Abstract

Relevance. The identification of large tectonic elements, such as the Southern Slope of the Voronezh Anticlise (SSVA) and the Donetsk Folded Structure (DFS), is usually based on data from regional seismic surveys in combination with gravity and magnetic exploration. The most informative was the XIV profile of the RCM-DSS. However, tracing the deep faults identified on it over the area of the region, in the absence of a network of such profiles, is ambiguous and has led to the creation of a whole series of options (largely subjective). At the same time, the identification of the features of the deep structure of the junction zone of large structural elements of the Earth’s crust, in particular DFS and SSVA, is important for the knowledge of the geological history and mineral prospectivity prediction. Aim. To identify homogeneous tectonic blocks and deep faults in the junction zone of the DFS and the SSVA. Methods. The identification and tracing of deep faults and the identification of tectonic blocks were carried out on the basis of an assessment of their geodynamic homogeneity. For this purpose, the analysis of modern data of high-precision aerogeophysical survey of 1:50.000 scale (aeromagnetometry) and 1:100.000 scale (aerogravimetry) obtained by JSC GNPP Aerogeophysics in 2008–2011, the results of deep drilling and materials of the profile of deep seismic sounding ((DSS) was carried out. Results. Geodynamically homogeneous segments within the Kursk and Kalachsko-Ertilsky megablocks have been identified in the junction zone of the southern slope of the Voronezh crystalline massif and the Donetsk folded system. A new conceptual model of the deep structure is proposed, according to which these segments are located along the Great Donets Rift and experienced significant rifting during the Riphean period. The Pradonetsky rift corresponds to the zone of linear folding of Donbass, and the areas of the southern part of the Kursk megablock correspond to the area of shallow folding of the carboniferous strata (folded-thrust type of cover folding). The predicted formations of the Riphean age can be attributed to an additional (transitional) complex.
