SEISMOGENIC ZONES OF AZERBAIJAN ANDTHEIR DEPTH STRUCTURAL FEATURES

Abstract

Investigated depth structural features of the seismogenic zones of Azerbaijan by weak seismicity, identified earlier by the author. Have been found that the sources of weak shakes in seismogenic zones are concentrated in certain depth intervals, the upper limits which correspond to the depth of the surface of the crystallic basement. Also determined that, source zones of strong earthquakes (M ≥ 5.0) located near the surface of crystallic basement.
