Abstract

At remote researches, in Dagestan on southeast slope of Andian ridge, have been revealed ancient seismic disruptions presented by fault scarps, landslides and rock avalanches. Largest of landslides has formed lake Kazenoy-Am. Parameters of fault scarps do not leave doubts in their seismotectonic origin. The kinematics of fault scarps conforms to geological data about the newest displacements in a zone of Andian deep fault. Collected materials, allow to consider surely this deep fault as a large earthquake producing structure. Presence of allocated before the potential seismic source in a zone of Andian fault with Мmax=7.0 has proved to be true by collected paleoseismic data.
