Geoecological state of the upper reaches of the Avarskoye Koisu river basin
Abstract
Relevance. Recently, scientists around the world have been paying great attention to the preservation of the environment in connection with global climate change. In this regard, this article examines the dynamics of the geoecological state of the highland part of mountain river basins. To a certain extent, climate change is also associated with an increase in anthropogenic load on the slopes of river valleys. New roads are being built and existing ones are being expanded. As a consequence, the risk of exogenous processes increases. In this regard, engineering-geological and engineering-geophysical studies also play an important role in solving the problems of the geoecological state. This article comprehensively studies the geological, hydrological, geoecological state of the catchment area of the high-mountain part of the Avarskoye Koisu River basin in the context of global climate change. For these purposes, based on the research results, some engineering-geological and geophysical sections of specific landslide-prone areas along the Avarskoye Koisu River road were constructed. Research objective. Analysis of the geoecological state of the upper reaches of the high-mountain part of the Avarskoye Koisu River basin in the context of global climate change and increasing anthropogenic load. Research methods. A route engineering-geological and landscape survey of the high-mountain part of the Avarskoye Koisu River basin was conducted. Engineering-geological and engineering-geophysical surveys with the drilling of more than 40 wells were carried out along the widened roads, in especially dangerous landslide areas. Shallow seismic exploration was carried out using the refraction wave method (RWM) in the form of individual seismic soundings along a grid of profiles, each of which was processed by 3-4 arrangements (94 m) of seismic receivers. Research results. In the course of the research, results were obtained on the state of the landscapes of the high-mountain part of the Avarskoye Koisu River basin, engineering-geological and engineering-geophysical sections were compiled, allowing us to assess the conditions associated with the processes of global climate change and the increasing anthropogenic load in this area.
